Thread regarding CVS layoffs

What if

The stock doubles and the Aetna merger has benefits for employees as well as customers.

What if the judge DOES approve the already approved merger?

What if the managers who look at this site try to change with the times instead of doing the same things that have and wondering why they are miserable?

What if individuals who are failing stop blaming others and if those same stop hoping the company will fail for changing.

*And sorry no lay-off info. No store closings. You have seen the lies play out here.

Mass store closings and 3/22 lay-off all made up b.s. by id--ts.

if someone disagrees with your option it is because they have no opinion of their own?

Well since the AMA, one judge, you and "many colleagues" don't agree.

Oh.

Wait- the judge hasn't ruled.

Wait- "many colleagues", is that an official poll?

Wait. CVS is successful and we want it to not be based on guesses of what might happen , what might be true?

Sounds like facts = your opinion and the AMA, which is in the same arena with the NRA, they oppose any gun laws. it is their mantra.

I don't like that we overpaid for Omnicare, but that fact. has nothing to do with the Aetna deal.

Or CVS's earnings last year. Or CVs long term success.

it is not Kool Aid that CVS has been successful for years and years and years. That is a fact.-- an actual fact.

Okay, the rar rar Ra CVS guy is here and won’t hear of any criticisms.

Rite Aid used to be the biggest pharmacy too. Your point in the pee contest?

Not only do many colleagues question whether or not this is a good acquisition, not you though...a Federal judge, the AMA, community pharmacy association and other health care entities do too. Oh, and shareholders. But not you, it’s talking points all the way. Kool aid tastes good?

Aren’t you the least bit concerned that if Omnicare was overpaid, that Aetna could be the same? Nah? Because Larry said so? Or because past performance? Overpaying by 6 billion (so far) is not a hiccup.

Wisdom comes with knowledge and facts. Please don’t confuse it with Pollyanna.

Where is this store with 2300 rxs/ week and 210 hours. That is so 2 years ago. In our area we would be lucky to get 150 tech hours with that script count

Well, there were and are still in the process of several store closings...example. Chicago area.

I hope the original poster is correct and this will be a retail health bonanza... recent history contradicts that, but anything can happen.

Health care professionals, with the exception of pharmacists, simply are just hesitant to be treated like a farm animals for any length of time. NP's stay around long enough to get experience and move on where they can practice in a clean professional environment. They are overwhelmed now, and more procedures are being put on their plate.

Your response has been played like a bad recording on this website over and over.

I have seen the what if question to multiple possibilities( not based in reality), like stores closing to cut costs. It is a ridiculous theory.

Its like saying I will quit my job to cut costs. --An id--t's thought process.

CVS has successfully made many many many acquisitions, but lets point to the one that has had a hiccup. We cant even sat it won't be a good addition at this point, but the valuation was bad.

Taking one misstep and extrapolating does not constitute wisdom. In fact you seem fuzzy on the definition of wisdom. Wisdom doesn't jump to negative conclusions based on nothing.

Walgreens-- their express scripts fight landed CVS millions of scripts. Then Walgreens went to the power call center and landed CVS millions of scripts. They missed in a quarter with no idea why and cut a billion in spending, including store hours, which we gained thousands of scripts from.

Walgreens used to be larger than CVS. Walmart was on the ropes 2 years ago(which we are not) because of declining sales.

Business will change. CVS will make mistakes. People on this website will spout off about things that have no basis in reality.

It must be sad to dream in shades of black and gray.

What if, none of that happens? But, for fun let’s say Aetna is approved..

What if, this increases premiums, lowers choice, limits network and creates an overall increased cost? 73 BILLION dollars is a lot to pay back while lowering costs. Of course, costs went down and coverage went up with Caremark, right???

What if, the managers, and pharmacists here have seen many failed initiatives rolled out? What if, the doubt comes from wisdom? What if, people were allowed to pause and ask questions out of care for the company rather than just jumping into whatever talking points corporate comes out with? And gosh, not be labeled mo--ns, id--ts, or “not a team player”. What if...

What if Walgreens and Amazon watch the failures and learn from it? Like say what WG did with LTC. Amazon just recently said that they WILL make billion dollar mistakes. What if CVS makes another one with Aetna? Lest they admit that they have or will! Hmmm, what if...better keep our heads in the sand though, Larry is definitely looking out for workers and their families. Well, that’s what it says on my talking points anyway.

Trying dealing with a real store. 6000 scripts that are mostly Medicare and other government funded scripts. Open 7-10 so the rx line never stops. Customers are constantly stealing and eating what every they like because they can get away with it. 220k of external theft because the stores in watts California. Look the city up and you’ll understand what a real store to run is like. Weekly sales of 80-90k. Store gets demolished every day because of the clientele. You’ll understand. You get less hours then a ymas store( ymas gets 440+ and we 360-440). I gotta be honest couldn’t be happier to not have to deal with a couponer or ignorant disrespectful thief. Company could burn to the ground for all I care.

Seriously, my store is not bad, 2300rx..plenty overlap 210 tech hrs..majority nice customers who appreciate us. The job is what you make of it...plenty of tools for success...this site made up of pharmacists and managers who have quit or have been fired,or who failed and want to blame others...be positive and good things will happen

No kool aid, but there is a difference between kool aid and battery acid, that folks on here drink.

Seems like a choice.
