Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Sign of the times?

With the loss of two more contracts, is this a sign of things to come? How many stores have theirs up for renewal?

"the family" That's how Manson's gang was described, too.

It's a dying business. Paradigms changed. If Follett had not made all their bad decisions starting with bringing in MLS to make their stock worth more they would be better off. Wonder how the family is feeling about the boat load of money they dropped on B&T? How about the money they dropped on the Ivory Tower? The Family shareholders are probably a little unhappy?

Having ones store acquired through a new lease isn't terrible (unless your institution went with follett, of course). The store staff are no longer in follett's failing, flailing clutches, right?

One of those contracts involved the closing of over 20 stores, don't know about the other lost contract. Not a word about retention of any employees.

SM in one store has already been asked to stay on by the new company, so doesn’t appear to be fault at store level. HO needs to review itself.

2 contracts in the same region. Something's wrong with rm and gvp to lose them both. That's sad.
