The way Walmart treats and pays its employees it has become maybe the only company in the world which people leave by choice , the moment they have another offer or option. At my store the only people that stay longer are the ones that can’t land a job somewhere else. It seems to be working just fine for the management, but the fact is that a workforce that has no other job options are usually a workforce that provides less quality of work.

Yea after 18 years I've finally had enough as well, I'll be starting at 3M in a few weeks and I can't wait to be done with this company! I'm really looking forward to having a few holidays off and getting triple time for the ones I work, plus double time on Sunday. Walmart is so blinded by trying to turn short term quarterly profits they've completely ruined what was once an ok company. It's time to wake up and realize that there are better jobs everywhere right now and there's never been a better time to get out. Where will you be in 5 years at Walmart vs. a company that values their employees?
Been with wm nhm for coming up on four years. Started off good till last September. We started "Great work place". Got "promoted" (haha) to team lead (assistant manager) and earning 15k less a year then they did. Stressed it for a bit only hanging by thread with my schedule keeping me there. 4am-1pm. Last week they announced operation changed. Forcing myself and 15 associates to now work 3pm-midnight for .70 cent raise. No way around it. Last straw was drawn for me. I don't see many promotion deals in future.
We got a full pallet of toilet seat covers now, so I'm happy again.
been at walmart for 11 years now,... more and more doesn't look like a 12th year. I have never seen it this bad, I mean its been going down hill for 5 years now but,... still people don't seem to leave my store on the o/n shift too much, but when one does quit, they never replace them. we tend to stick together o/n but people are getting fed up, i can see a mass exodism happening soon everywhere.
going conspiracy whise....
I wonder if Walmart knows what coming (politically and celebrity arrests) and the fact wm had deals to during the obama admin, turn the closed wm's into fema holding areas, makes me think wm may have been doing "things"
Walmart is haring workers by the bus load, just about every day they come through with a group of 8 to 10 people for orientation they work for a week or a month or 2 then as soon as they get there time cut to 16 or less hours baby, they are gone. It's like working in a new place each day. This includes managers they come and go it's so much change nothing is ever settled with all the change .walmart is constant changing itself to death. And what is left they work to death and fire them if they cant come up to there standards.I'm not trying to tell you to get a better job than walmart I'm begging you. It's not a reliable job puts you under mental stress trying to do the job and also working for below poverty wages
But...but...but..the company is doing so munch to help us associates. Like the ACNT?
That's about right for me.
i love walmart - it is heaven on earth.
