One best way

"One best way" is the new slogan for how Walmart plans to stay profitable for shareholders. The "one best way" to raise profits is thru screwing and stealing from employees. It started a couple years ago with stealing close to a $BILLION in accrued sick time from employees. Other examples are never giving anyone a raise, and if you do make sure it's less than inflation so it's actually still a pay cut, and make sure to push back any "raise" a few months to save a couple extra bucks. The latest example of "one best way" was lowering our accruel rate for PTO meaning most will get less PTO than years past. Just remember the only "one best way" to remain profitable is NOT thru innovation, it is entirely thru screwing your employees. It really is a genius idea for long term profitability, I guess we'll all wait and see how that works out .

I know there was a thread about the new slogan just recently, but I found that @Y7bA9sw-uaa hit the nail on the head with this comment so I reposted it as a thread.

It's Crazy! I was blind sided for working alone in Deli (100% cust svc dept) on Valentines Day for the closing shift cause co-worker called out.
Asked for help 5x but apparently couldn't get any. So I stayed 1/2hr after end of shift & any longer I would've been written up.
Didnt matter, I came in & was blind sided by 4mgrs in a 6x6 office for 2hrs trying to intimidate me to type an action plan for things I DID NOT GET DONE on Valentines night!
I asked to speak to someone higher before I acknowledged anything but was told "NO" and if I left incarcerated room I'd be terminated!
I typed my heart out! When mgr went to send it IT TIMED OUT! Everything I typed was gone!
Was told to type again but make it short.
At this point I started hyperventilating & having an anxiety attack. Told 3 mgrs I couldnt breathe, this is not right & I need air and I'll be back.
When I returned Manager submitted my write up as "Refused to acknowledge due to walking out!"
Who does that to a long term associate?
Really if that's the ONE BEST WAY company has a LOT OF LAW SUITS COMING THEIR WAY!

If they are now "required" to reduce turnover rate my store is failing miserably. lol. Theirs only 2 original employees from fresh before the fresh cap changes (me being one of them and the other on the brink of quiting) and the second set of replacements 2 - 3 months in already dgaf and never meet fresh cap expectations set by HO. I live in a small town where they have exhausted most of the available workforce at least once and dont pay enough to bring new employees in that are not salaried members considering starting hourly wages are only $0.50/hr above the state minimum wage and the benefits are minimal

This is all very true. I came to work here a few months ago. I'm getting punished for caring for the customers! I work in the bakery /deli food production. Ive been written up, and punished for not taking my breaks and lunch on time because I was doing something that is not the 1 best way. I was helping the customers in front of me. I like the work, but the commitment to take care of what the customer requires vs one best way of Walmart often are not the same.

Who ever is saying that PTO rates were cut is a liar PTO rates were not cut they only added protected PTO in but you are still accumulation the same amount on another note a union would bankrupt Walmart

It's pretty sad the people running this company actually think this will motivate or improve things at the store. This company doesn't stand a chance with the mo--ns currently in charge. Everyone needs to get out now and sell every bit of stock they have while it's still worth something. This is clearly a sinking ship in desperation mode with nowhere to go but down.

PTO accruel was cut even with PPTO added, combined it accrues about 15% slower than last year. If you don't even know that go talk to someone at a DC. Also due to the fact we hire every temp we can get our hands on and we still have been 100+ people short for years... Yea I'm no rocket scientist but I'm pretty sure the turnover rate is high. You just keep making the difference as a low level a-- kissing store management 👍

If you even don't know what the Camp 1-4 process is then you probably don't have the information to have an informed opinion on turnover rates. Additionally, PTO rates were not cut when you add in PPTO rates, nobody is refusing to give raises or pushing raises back and nobody is forcing you to work anywhere at anytime..you do it because you agreed to work there under the conditions laid out. If you don't like it just go somewhere else but stop trying to make yourself out to be some kind of victim.

Wtf is camp1-4 process? Walmart pretending to care about turn over while giving us every reason in the world to leave? Maybe you take what Walmart says at face value, but most have realized its all BS to try and save face and seem like a decent company to work for. Cutting PTO accruel rates, stealing from employees (sick time), refusing to give raises, pushing raises back, and forcing people to work major holidays for normal pay all tell me all I need to know about Walmart...

Hmmm, doesn't really line up with what's currently happening. Stores are under the Camp 1-4 process where they are required to reduce their turnover rates.

You reap what you sow though. Because Walmart is on a mission to turn over career employees because they cost too much. Those were the ones that cared about the business.

Now you want to bring in this young entitled generation and treat them like dirt and ask them to work for peanuts?
