Why did they needed to do this in this way. I feel for the european colleagues but why did they need to imply that the layoffs are gonna be done overseas, which makes American workers more or less safe. Hate to say this but it turns out that it would be much better if they kept us in the dark.

This is similar to how Steelcase, under Hackett, handled one of its big layoffs back in 2003-- publicly assure the hourly/GSR-equiv people that the cuts would all be in management or overseas, then boom
