Do what our store employees do, learn the café for a few months then quit and get more money and benefits at a REAL Starbucks!!!

Our cafe is one of the insanely busy ones.

Add to that the endless baking with the never ending, Buy one/get one, cookie

deal, which is basically free food for the regulars that buy cookies, regardless.

Add to that food orders, milk orders, low staff/huge lines & cafe inventory once a month.

And don't forget the Godiva displays & planograms!

I worked there when the Café mgrs were salaried and ours DEFINITELY worked at least 60-70 hours a week if not more.

Are café managers still salaried? I thought they went hourly some time ago. This was probably due to the fact that most café managers at BN do very little time in actual management, and that the company was following California state law, which most national companies do.

In my experience, this was only fair, since CMs might take a hour a week or so to help (or actually write) the café schedule, perhaps an hour a week to order product, maybe a hour or two a week to help interview the constant revolving door of café servers, etc. All together, they might put in perhaps five or six hours a week in real management duties, and the rest of the time they'd be making drinks and telling the more dense guests that their Starbucks gift cards are not accepted, and why.
