Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Anything new

Sounds like sos. Anyone know when auditors will be finished reviewing financials? I really want to see what’s under the hood.

I suspect Win was much worse off than they let on.

Have to come out and agree on the management comment. Seems the worst is in our operations support groups. I've seen it too many times. 1. Good manager puts their foot down about these c-aptastic money saving schemes. 2. Good manager fired/moved/pushed out. 3. Sorry (current) replacement managers only does about 1/2 the job as the last guy as they are unqualified. 4. C-ap blows up and the older analyst is blamed for managements lack of forethought. 5. Good loyal analyst leaves company. Result = whole groups that are barely doing their job and are clueless to that fact. 6. Management moves their Ops responsibilities onto ENG. Result = engineers leaving because they are doing it all. Result = c-appy support overall for everyone due to these management blunders. 7. Layoffs and c-appy ops managers protect each other. Result = bitter good old boy system we see today.

Every group needs to be reviewed. They're making tiger teams for all these new products to hopefully keep them successful, but they are letting everything else die on the vine. Where's the tiger team to fix these remnants of our standard support groups? Where are all of the senior people who can advise management on what to do?

You know they’re sweating every second of the bankruptcy process. I remember Wall Street labeled their intern practices accounting wizardry. No telling what’s going to come out of this.

Good news no layoffs for another 30 days and maybe another company will buy your resources.

SOS? Save our ship or same ole $hit?

If Windstream doesn't restructure middle management we are absolutely boned. Every day I see these clowns with their little kingdoms fighting and bickering completely counter intuitive. Asking how we can do more with less and in the same sentence saying we are not doing a good enough job.

They think everyone is replacable, turnkey, easy peezy.... Nope. Not in this cr@ptastic network. Same reason your automation efforts fall on their face. You can't automate bad in the same way you can't fix stupid.

WINMQ

When does the 911 auction begin? Besides that what do they really have to offer?

Who’s going to buy a network that leased from other carriers? Velo Cloud Could take control of the SDWan customer base.
