Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sadly, this is most likely true

Face it. They are going to be depending on minimum wage, part-time employees to be key carriers and act as managers so they don't actually have to pay managers. They replaced ASMs with hourly supervisors, who are required to do the same amount of work with less hours and less pay. They replaced some supervisors with lower paid leads that are required to do the same work with NO manager hours and even less pay.

Now, they will just run the stores with people willing to do the same job as an ASM with no benefits, part-time hours and minimum wage.

And there will be people willing to do it.

Yeah the salaried workers at my sears abuse the honor system all the time taking hour lunches coming in late doing their own punch corrections.. all the hours that they basically steal could be allotted to someone else who really wants and needs to work

Management is the problem!! They shd be made to click in just like. everyone else dies!

AH.. but you would think having a salaried manager work a ton of hours would accomplish the same thing, wouldn't you? Unfortunately, salaries managers soon learn that if they are present during district/regional visits they can come in late and leave early as much as they want. No one tracks their time. And now that Kmart managers are running the Sears districts and have no clue how Sears operates, they don't know what is getting done and what isn't.

Wouldn’t having one salaried manager and just having them work a ton of hours accomplish the same thing?

At my sears store the only people who are getting any hours is management and the full time people that have worked many years and I don’t understand how very low sales can support their wages and benefits.

Any given day we have at least 4 full time employees plus the store manager working..

It’s like a ghost town in the store and I can’t see crowds coming in later in the day

Our part time people are barely getting any hours

I guess no customers means no messes to clean up but what do we really have that would make customers want to shop at sears

I miss Kmart as they did have a good variety of things
