Thread regarding CVS layoffs

This is so frustrating

I really wish there was more transparency from CVS management regarding what's going on with the company and what changes are really going to happen.

Right now we are all just guessing and in a lot of cases stressing over things that might not even turn out to be true.

This can't be good for productivity, among other things.

A little transparency could go a long way...

All of those programs are still active. If they are failing in your store, it's because you haven't integrated them well. Corporates job is to create them, your job is to execute. Nice job screwing it up!

Yea, Curbside was a great idea but not not executed well. Other programs CVS has thrown money at. Values in Action fell to wayside, employee appreciation. New program is employee depreciation. Delivery service lasted about 2 months and beauty 360...

These programs cost plenty to put together. How many 10's of millions have been lost due to poor planning.

Hubs.... the list of amenities is crazy, already failed with hearing aid closures , how much did that cost? Yoga? Mani-pedis? Really

This is why store level suffers, THE think tank at CVS are failing at our expense.

Curbside was a great idea that CORPORATE screwed up big time!! It was a horrible roll out, because they hadn’t fixed all the bugs before rolling it out. I think like 3 days after roll out the whole system crashed big time. Besides they never gave us any extra hours or additional people to handle curbside orders anyway!

Doesn’t CVS have a retail online presence...didn’t CVS have something called Curbside...how is that “Healthy” transition going. Maybe CVS doesn’t have the talent at the corporate level to create programs that succeed in the new retail environment. I know the talent exists at store level to implement what we are given. What makes them think the Aetna merger will be any different? Still time but big changes are needed.

You guys assume too much! Cvs IS in a bit of trouble. Look carefully, and first and foremost, retail is changing BIG-TIME around the whole country. MANY retail operations are shuttering stores in record numbers. Payless shoes, closing all U.S. stores. (Maybe franchisees might stay around, but actual payless stores are gone), Sears/Kmart is hanging on by a thread, (despite the chairman's buyout of company, it may not be enough to save sears), Victoria's secret closing 53 stores around the country, J.C. Penny not doing great, Rite Aid stock UNDER a dollar, (like .70 cents or something), a few other big name retailers (I forget off the top of my mind), closing lots of stores. The idea of the mall stores are becoming a thing of the past. So that's number 1, retail is changing. And why is retail changing? My second point... Online. Why go to a store when you can buy online and it ships right to your doorstep. No need to fight the traffic, wait in LONG lines at the store, etc. And the big point, is the AMAZON EFFECT!

Just please I'd like one person to answer this one question... With Amazon's purchase of Pill Pack, tell me why I should go to CVS when I can get my script online thru pill pack? I can ALSO get my shampoo, deodorant, bandaids, etc, online thru Amazon. Groceries online thru Amazon, EVERYTHING I need I can get online thru Amazon. You tell me ONE thing that I can get at cvs that I can't get thru Amazon? And then you tell me WHY I should go to the store (CVS) when everything I need I can buy online?? On-line shopping AND the Amazon effect is killing retail, and you tell me CVS is OK? Plus remember that CVS is one of the most EXPENSIVE retailers around. In my district customers are ALWAYS complaining how HIGH our prices are and how expensive we are. Amazon is cheaper.

Not to mention 2019 might just be ALOT more of a rebuilding year than you guys think. A financial analyst was saying in regards to the stock, that they think their won't be much of a rebound in the stock price and that the stock price will probably fall lower because of too much headwinds cvs will face in 2019. Aetna merger = Cvs bit off more than they can chew. Cvs is facing higher unexpected costs with integration, and the merger is still in the court review process. So trust me, things aren't as rosy as you guys might think.

Literally nothing is changing. What business in retail have you EVER seen hours increase? This is retail. We're a huge company and we're not going anywhere. Stock is down because profit predictions are lower with the acquisition. We'll rebuild this year and crush it next year.

Yea honestly just last week people were calling it the end just because the stock dropped and drawing conclusions that the company is doomed.

Well you can’t go by things that are said on this board. I assure you the front store is not going anywhere anytime soon, and is profitable. It would help if they would stop gouging hours though. Keep doing your job this acquisition was about growth and good things. I know I sound full of hopeful bs but this board can make you feel like there’s no tomorrow.
