Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Any word on CO-MGRS?

A lot of stores in the south east are not replacing co-mgrs, when one leaves or promotes or even if stores make it to the qualifying sales for a co- Mgr they are not being added!!

Not stirring rumors , just asking if anyone is hearing anything?

The co-manager position is a viable position if it is handled correctly at store level. Too many CO's are treated like glorified assistants and not given any real power in the stores. This is the fault of store managers and market managers. The CO position is set up for advanced training to help them when they are promoted to SM. Unfortunately, in most cases, this is not happening.

Walmart needs to tighten up its profitable stores and keep them appropriately staffed and shelves filled to stay competitive.

It's not an answer to your question, but a speculation based on it:I think WM is now in the place where they're re examining a LOT of their jobs----hourly and salaried alike. I've believed the co manager thing was a huge waste all along. Based on what I saw during my years with the company, those cos weren't doing anything assustants could be bumped up to do with little or no extra effort. ..... It's gonna be extremely interesting to see what this company looks like two years from now.
