Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Can we really survive in this form?

I can’t seem to find any changes in doing business, at least from what I see at my store. Thought that the idea was to implement some changes to make us more profitable. So far, the same old thing.

Nothing will change until a new CEO is hired, which will take a long time..

Think about it, unless you were in it for just the money, why would anyone want to head up an antiquated department store chain owned by a micro-managing hedge fund boss who nearly ran the company into the ground?

The same guy that drove a once profitable retailer into bankruptcy now owns it....How anyone expects doing things the same way and expecting different results is beyond me.

Eddie will continue to cut and slash and close down stores and sell off assets until there is nothing left.

The only changes might be closing a few more stores and lowering the amount of softlines for sale. I don't know this for certain but that's what I get from reading the documents on prime clerk. There was no promise to change anything else.

It is not the aim of Eddie to make these companies survive, just to get what he wants out of it and drop it like a hot potato.

Yep... same old tired and drab look..no new and eye catching apparel for women, just a big sea of yellow clearance

Think the only changes have been reducing hours drastically

Guess that’s how Eddie can keep his “promise” to protect the 45,000 jobs..at least the part time jobs. Just give out a 3 hr shift a week and you’re still an employee
