Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Mattel may still be a strong name to have on a resume, but that may not always be the case

How sad, as Mattel was once an amazing place to work, filled with incredible talent, and producing the most in-demand toys. It is not any longer and I fear that those that stay til the end will not be viewed as loyal employees who wanted to stay and save the company, but as not smart enough to leave earlier when it was obvious that there is no way to save it. Or even worse, not having enought talent to find other options. Mattel may still be a strong name to have on a resume, but that may not always be the case. Good luck, all.

Well, I think that @XZ1ujjg-1qmg said it right.

What kind of an id--t would not look for a bigger paycheck? That doesn’t even make any sense. If there was a better job in a few months with something better why wouldn’t you jump? That kind of misplaced masochist loyalty will never get you any payback.

Depends on what one looks for on a resume. Are you looking for someone with dedication, longevity, and pride in their work (granted that you could be looking at a 'bullet dodger')? Or, are you looking for someone who jumps from company to company, someone who is essentially looking for a bigger paycheck and leaving the company in a few months?
