Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Why does pharmacy close early on weekends?

I've asked a few times and never seem to get a straight answer from anybody. All I get is corporate thinks the pharmacist makes too much money so we let them close early on weekends. But what's the real reason? When I close the store on saturday nights customers are always really annoyed that the pharmacy closes at 6pm, and I've got nothing to tell them, except go to the nearest late night pharmacy and they don't like that, so they leave unhappy. We should not be open without the pharmacy open. After all it does say pharmacy on the side of our building right?

CVS could care less about patients on weekends.

If the store is open then the pharmacy should follow suit. My husband was in the ER and they faxed 2 prescriptions to CVS. They were closed at 6pm. This is not servicing customers!

CVS is very crafty by having time analysis studies to back up their reasoning. Of course this is based on hours of "uninterupted" time.

Pretty much says they view customers as interuptions.

So fine, it’s about $$. Well try telling that to a customer! Try telling customers that cvs puts $$ ahead of your health and see how well that flies.

Your nuts on payroll in the Rx ! Have you ever looked at your p and l Rx payroll dollars? You do not have to pay 160,000 a year to a pharmacist with a couple years experience! They are taking care of each other, id--t. Enjoy your 50 a year with no help. They work 40 hours at most, get real

Bingo. Cvs looks at payroll as an expense, not as an investment. That's called bad business.

There is only one answer. Payroll expense.

Answer: We are educated and have self esteem and pharmacist run this company. We will not be treated like the Front store group who are just glad to have a job and title and know they can not be managers anywhere else. Do stop your complaining please !

You would think they would have the same hours as the FS because the RX is where we make all our money. But no, RX is closed most holidays or at the very least has shorter hours. The reality is cvs has pretty much given up on the front store. They don't care that we're missing time with our family. There's no work/life balance here. The only people that are good for this job is the ones with no friends, family, life, and their only hobby is to slave away for this company. They're going to lose a lot of the good store managers and pharmacists soon. I'm already getting tons of emails of store manager positions that have opened up. It's going to get worse very soon. Guaranteed.
