Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Am I the only one who is happy about this?

So much negativity here, it astounds me sometime. How hard is it to understand that Sears surviving means a lot to a lot of people? I'm in my twenties, I have plenty of options if our Sears closed its doors for good. But there are so many people who don't. People who desperately needed this to work.

Is empathy such a foreign concept to so many of you?

OP don't know if your a troll or not, but ever since my store closed (even before it closed on the LQ) the liquidation was fun compared to the toxic limited hours we had. It was horrible in my department the floor was a mess our stock room was packed and the receiving stockroom had tons of our stuff. We couldn't catch up with the freight we got and the limited hours we were getting.

The only ones that are happy that remain in Sears are the topic id--ts that are just milking it until its over along with any DM's and SM's with the higher positions anyone below that has to be suffering and over working themselfs.

Negative Nellie here. Hey, these folks are screwed, doesn't even matter who, what, where, when or why. You have a right to be angry if someone messes with your money.

Empathetic employees in a company run by a sociopath. I'll bet Eddie tortured little animals when he was a kid

The rest of us who aren't so privileged

our pensions and benefits

LOL! You are aware that if you have “pensions and benefits,” you’re privileged right? None of the twenty-something whippersnappers you’re whining about get either of those things.

You wanted to see them lose their jobs and livelihoods to line your own pockets.

No, you’re not OP. Many of us have always loved Shopping Our Way and enjoy Sears quality merchandise.

Working for a company that no one knows what month they will close is not a good place to work for.

Hey OP... folks don't come here to tell the world how great Sears is. It's a layoff board... where people talk about having been laid off or worry about being laid off.

We're all here because Eddie put us here. He has stolen our pride, our money, our benefits, our jobs, and our company... and judging from the color of your glasses, your common-sense. Don't troll the victims in this situation who come here to vent because we're not still living on daddy's dime. And certainly don't tout our lack of empathy for Eddie like we all caused this. The man in charge (again) is responsible for the existence of this board.

If I were you, I'd suggest taking the court's brief liquidation reprieve and start looking at some of those hoards of job options you've got to pick from. The rest of us who aren't so privileged were hoping for an outcome that was favorable to our pensions and benefits. We'll hunker down because we have to until something better comes along. Make yourself useful and share some of those job options on here if you want to contribute something worthwhile.

So what's your plan for bringing people in the door OP? So many people waxing nostalgic "OMG SEARS IS SAVED!" yet none of you are saying how you're going to get customers that left you for dead.

I agree. Those that post on here are always complaining. It comes from being immature and flaunting their low IQ.

What about the 200,000 who lost their jobs already. The mismanagement. The loss of lump sum pension that many were counting on. Loss of medical. Loss of life insurance. I am in my early fifties and still cannot find a position that will pay enough to support my family. Where was Eddie empathy. All he has is greed.

There must be lights burnin' brighter somewhere

Got to be birds flyin' higher in a sky more blue

If I can dream of a better Sears

That stays open for many years

Tell me why can't my dream come true

Thank You. Thank You very much.

" Is empathy such a foreign concept to so many of you? "

Give it a rest - in a year's time, the talk of the town will be Sears, transformco, newco, oldnewco, newoldco, fast eddie's folly or whatever its named, 2nd bankruptcy filing
