Layoff Scope: 4,000 employees to be laid off, worldwide.
India: 400 targeted for layoffs
Transfer: If laid off and able to find a position, will be able to stay with SAP
Note: Will continue to hire, different skillset needed. Will grow to over 100K employees (globally)

Does any one know the severance package for forced layoffs in the U.S?

Last round of layoff, it was 2 weeks per year of service.

Nope...not if it's part of a mass layoff. There are no protections....not even people over 50 in California.

Does anyone know if there are any laws in California that makes it hard to layoff someone who is over 50 years?

Apparently layoffs are done in 3 stages:

a. Early retirement for those 60+

b. Voluntary layoffs

c. Forced layoffs
