Thread regarding Follett layoffs

HR

If HR monitors this site daily they have too much time on their hands and need to do some actual work.

The leaders of this company are horrible and the family has become lazy fat cats. Dozens of us have reached out over the past years begging for action and no response. If you ask me let itburn to the ground.

HR... Your Advocate? Your Friend? OMG

Please do not ever regard any representative of an HR department of any organization as either description. They are trained to be duplicitous, and always have the organizations agenda in prime focus. If they don't, they won't have jobs.

The bottom line is: The only one looking out for your interests, is YOU!

HR is there to protect management and the board. If they can't defend an action, they call in the lawyers to assess risk. 5 years ago, when management began to purge experienced staff and they violated stated company policy (and possibly violated the law), they paid a lot in legal fees to avoid paying very little severance, for instance. HR's role is to keep paperwork in order and to advise management on what is acceptable behavior by employees and management itself. That's it. HR isn't your advocate. HR isn't your friend.

HR has some of the worst people, they are not there to help but hinder & find fault in associates. Had the worse experience with one who just added fuel to the situation not solutions. Will never forgive that person for making my job so hard.
