Salaried manager doesn't work min. 40 hours per week. Off 3 days because of school closure due to weather and manager still claims 40 hrs worked. No , can't do work from home location, doesn't use vacation, or personal time credit. Manager thinks it's great to be off and still get paid. Follett values!

Definitely HO
Funny how some think they are working SO hard but in fact do very little.
Hope to get out of this toxic environment
And just where did you get the statistic, 90%, salaried employees? Not working 40 hours?
Fake news.
These would HAVE to be HO employees. Employees in the store are working a lot more than 40 every week.
Last post. Are we talking HO or Stores?
Two lines of thought
-
Where's the LP folks? If 90% are doing this they're really failing.

Good for them, ripping off the greedy family!
I understand exempt versus nonexempt, and I can honestly tell you that 90% of Follett salaried employees are not working over 40 let alone over. Most I see are under 30, take long lunches and NEVER claim PTO when taking days off.
I know one manager making 90 plus has never worked a full week in their Follett life. Comes in around 10 and is gone by 2 plus takes an hour plus lunch.
The issue isn't fellow employees. The issue is the garbage management. Period. It is hopeless.
How do you dock time for a salaried employee? When they work 70 - 80 hours a week during rush you laugh at them and when the school is closed you expect them to use their PTO so you don't have to pay them. What greedy b--tards.
Does the labor law change apply just to snow days or any day the campus is closed, such as holidays not observed by Follett?
Actually the policy was updated last year because of labor laws. Salaries managers can’t be forced to take PTO when a store closes for inclement weather.
Company requires managers to charge snow days, when campus is closed, to their PTO.
What is the snow day policy for SM when their campus shuts down?
My W2, as a salaried store manager, had decreased every year dye to the change in the bonus plan. Hourly ASM and Text manager make more than I do during rush, graduation, parents weekend, etc (any time we are open on a Sunday).
Snow day policy is stated.
If they want us to work more for less year after year, shut up about a snow day.
Do you understand the difference between exempt and non-exempt positions? Do you understand that when the SM works 60 hours in a week they get no ot? Wondering if this post came from HO or the family feeling like they're getting ripped off?
I am an SM who on average works 45 hrs a week. Employees below don’t understand how many hours SMs put into stores. They call off and leave no choice but for SMs to come in of planned days off. SMs are not paid that well and work unpaid overtime all the time.
Not sure how they get away with that during rush. Every manager I’ve ever known works pretty much open-close during rush. Day off during rush? Never.
Too funny, this manager doesn't work over 40 ever!! Not even rush times. 38 hrs and out.
Yet do you ever stop to think about the times that they are there open to close or have logged a 70-80 hour week? Or go in on days off to get things done or to cover shifts? Probably not. Most of the employees really don’t understand the time that managers do put in. And how do you know they aren’t putting in their PTO? Do you have access to their ESS and Kronos login? Probably not.
