So I was surprised to see this yesterday... A small folding table set up in store with a guy sitting behind the table promoting aetna insurance. Now I never got a chance to find out what that was all about, but I know the judge in the case has not officially approved the merger yet and already CVS is peddling Aetna insurance in stores? The judge only allowed small parts of company to integrate but the main entities cvs & aetna were to remain separate free standing companies for now. If something happens and this merger were to go south, this'll really blow up in corporates face!

The merger is approved, but the judge could require Aetna to sell more of its business to satisfy any antitrust issues. The CVS/Aetna merger itself would not be rejected at this point.
To the poster who said it’s approved...you’re right, yes it is approved, but, it’s also tied up in the court system. So take that however you wish, but whoever posted this has a point, not all court cases go the way you want or hope.
What happens then if the judge rules against the merger? Not trying to start a war, just asking the “what if?” scenarios. Remember the judge did say and I quote “you better be prepared to unwind this thing should an unwinding be necessary”. He did then walk back those comments a little, but there are still like 95 complaints against this merger. What if, however unlikely, but what if one of those complaints is found to have merit? Then what?

Not saying merger not happening, just don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Nothing is 100 percent official until the judge gives his approval. Remember this merger was supposed to be finalized BEFORE thanksgiving of last year! And now it might not be approved until the spring.
