Definitely agree with first reply. You’ll be digging your own grave. Unless you can get a doctor to put you on long term disability and then let them pay you ongoing. But obviously will only get about 60% of salary, unless you’ve chosen to pay for a higher percentage

Hate to disappoint you but if you try that trick you'll probably propel yourself to the top of the next layoff list. Why? Because your going to make yourself disappear and if your colleagues can pick up your work you're SOL when you get back. Now is the time to make yourself MORE RELEVANT not less. Give it a go on short term disability for a month and you'll see what I mean
