What is the corporate layoff guestimate?

If you're not streaming, you're up a creek without a paddle. Who thinks investment will consist of entrenched middle management and overpaid vendors, who will leave with millions, while the rest of the staff get pink slips and pennies?
Something must be happening soon, right?? Big layoff or sale? Anyone have info on scope or timing?
I thought RD's message might impact AG but I was told that it didn't. But if that is the plan, get it over with Mattel. You threw your best attempts at 'presidents' at us and they were mass marketers. They weren't real leaders. Why would we think you will get it right this time?
It was a Town Hall recap email.
Everyone is replaceable, and I'm sure some would have the opportunity to move if the rumors are true. The knowledge at AG is not nearly what it used to be. Why do you think the company is failing?
AG being dispersed? That's laughable. Imagine what it would take to do that with a company like that. How do you replace the significant employee loss and their knowledge if they leave Middleton? This talk is just fear-mongering, people. It's exactly the opposite of the direction AG is trying to go.
@6kwq what email are you referring to?
RD already sent an email to AG employees saying change is coming. Sounds like prod development will all be under the same Mattel umbrella in EA. Rumors have been swirling that all of AG will be dispersed to various Mattel locations (ES, EA, PA) and no longer have a Madison presence. The company has been mismanaged for years. All managers know how to do is gossip and pat themselves on the back. There is no professional development. No consistency. No honesty. No vision. Good luck, AG.
@2uwl I doubt it
Let's see if that trend of holding leadership accountable holds true.
The prez, KD, was let go at the end of Dec.
Curious, which AG leader was let go?
Investments are being made to produce AG movies, not retail stores.
According to WO, AG retail is not a key area of growth for Mattel. Which means no appetite for brick and mortar (i.e. lease, headcount investments, etc.) More stores closures coming. AG will be limited to few flagship stores, with most products advertised and sold online.
One leader got let go for failing to hit goals. Let's see if that trend of holding leadership accountable holds true. If no one is steering the ship, how can you get to your destination? Accountability is about delivering on a commitment. It's responsibility to an outcome, not just a set of tasks.
Yes. Sometimes you have to cut in some areas to invest in others.
Can you cut your way out of this trend? Or is investment needed?
I’m very curious too. With the 2 stores closing announcement today it feels like there will be more big cuts to come.
