Another Mattel movie? I keep reading these announcements about movies but are any of them really being made? I remember alot of announcements in the years I was there and no movies ever actually happening. Is this just hype to raise stock price? Does any one have information on these?

Always follow the money.... what is the Movie budget? What's the burn rate. No expenditure = no movie.
So......
WHERE IS THE MONEY???
No one is objecting to the movies, it’s just that so far it’s all talk. Nothing is in production. Three announcements and nothing actually being made, that’s the problem. And time is running out.
Major motion pictures are the lifeblood of this company. If you can't accept that, you're living in the past.
HA HA HA! They've been trying to make a Hot Wheels movie since 2003. Fast and Furious beat them to it, then Cars, then Speed Racer. The movie always gets stuck in pre-production. Anyone remember when director McG was assigned to it? Mattel execs always ruin any good ideas because, like always, there's too many untalented hands in the pot and everyone thinks they're a movie producer. The announcement of a Hot Wheels movie just shows you they're using these updates to keep the stock afloat. What a joke.
How is this going to help?!?
It’s an irrelevant property. It’s like Tide saying they’ll make a movie about laundry.
Are people still falling for this? Announcements aren't movies. Like it's a big WOW to have iconic IP set up at a time when all studios are desperate for franchise IP. But maybe this time. If WB means business. Keep RD out of it. RB was a good move.
What will trying with Hot Wheels do for the Disney relationship with Cars, not to mention the Barbie movie with DP? Why is RD hell bent on getting DP back from Hasbro, when clearly doing a Barbie movie is a slap in the face to DP (again, as if Ever After High wasn't enough)? And, who needs another Fast and Furious? I'm so done with all this movie hype. How Wheels Hope is not a strategy.
They are doubling down on PR prior to Toy Fair. No one has seen evidence of tangible work or business plan that films will initiate prfofits . The “trust us “ card by executives can’t be working with shareholders. Seems like all hype!
