This is old news. When they pushed the software upgrade on the Infinera national network it crashed Nodes all over the country . This had never happened before. equipment upgrades did cause problems but they rarely cascaded form Node to Node. The total downtime will never be known by the public , it was in some cases 62 hours from beginning to end. The very talented Techs always found the issue within 24 hours and kept it from escalating . Those people are no longer in a position to help , they have left, been laid off or had their hands tied by the new management. This was either a case of gross incompetence or sabotage. Every piece of equipment has a back door password which the manufacturer knows and can be given to those that install and maintain the equipment. I know personally that one person who could solve and worked these type of issues left his position and went to another part of the company shortly before the outage. Their were actually two outages . the other one was on the local network ( legacy ) side . The new management has become a cuckhold of an entire company . This is poetic justice . Either way the future does not look very bright for the stock holders . the Fines will take years to pay and the new management will spend years in court proceedings.

..... LOL !.....its not bad it gets worse ....
F@#$$#@ng TROLL = Pertanium
Nope, wrong again.
L3 and CTL are not laying off, cutting or anything of the sort. They possibly maybe preparing for selling the company to Sears.
When they offer $180k VSPP to techs and no one takes it, it means their position is good and safe.
Plus...8% dividend growth?
Jeff Storey is doing a fine job. If we need to down size, it's just business. The old model of a Telephone Company is dead.
We have a National tech that started working out of our reporting center after L3 took over and he told us right away what really happened, but also told us we would never hear the truth. We told him about this post and he just grinned.
He just keeps his head down and doesn't say much about anything. His favorite line is....oh it's not bad, just wait, it gets worse. Everyone in the field calls the dude for answers. Spends all day on the phone.
Hahahaha wow. I wondered how long the people who knew what really happened wouod keep quiet.
Wasnt there a moratorium in place though? I understand that there shouldn't of been any maintenance work/upgrades during a moratorium. Least that's the law weve followed for years on my side. Maybe L3 doesn't have to follow the same rules as an RBOC?
Pish posh it's the unions that are ruining CTL they must go and employees with them ..... Jeff get it done for the longs....
