They just knocked out 100+ ppl in the PSG group, saying the difficult climate in the data center business, they have to reduce some headcount.
I’ve just read it on another thread, can anyone confirm this

I was at Altera for 5 years before the Intel acquisition. Was the best work life I’ve ever had. After the merger, it’s been all downhill.
~120 in the San Jose campus(former ALTR campus), some managers, 1-2 directors, some engineers and techs...
Which groups were impacted at PSG?
People are asking for confirmation whether or not layoffs have occurred. Can people focus on that instead of the (well deserved) rants on G10+ers.
Which groups were impacted at PSG? And how many people?
I was at Altera back in the day. Worse company I ever worked for. Anyway, for whatever the reason, engineers tend to get comfortable and stick around forever. The work is easy and tedious so it doesn't require a lot of stress. The end result is that the Altera / PSG engineers have a very high average age. For a company like Intel, that loves age discrimination, PSG is a goldmine for layoffs.
20 people cut from my PSG dept in SC. Mostly folks over 40.
