Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What do we buy from Sears. bankruptcy or not doesn't matter

Clothes - Mostly cheap stuff (Simply styled, no reputed brands, poor selection)

Electronics- Still selling CD's , Iphone 4 and 5 case...seriously

accessories - Non existent

clearance - last summer stuff still available now...

mattress - over priced. Do they compare with online competitors

Employees - mattress section employee cannot help tool dept. clothes section employee cannot help in tools etc. Cross Dept Training (What???)

In short - it doesnt matter to customers , this store is dead. management will sell real estate

OP must not shop at Sears, or hasn’t been in one for 15 years. Sears fast fashion is a big seller, especially for women. The brands are hot on social media too.

Cash registers are very modern , clothes are same material and color for all members of family that’s unique for sears

Whoever was talking about electronics is dumb. We lost money. Sold below cost as a way to draw members in. Lost even more margin paying out commission to associate who couldn't sell a PA or HDMI cable to save their lives...just saying.

appliances, tools, yard equipment... the same stuff I can get at Home Depot, Lowe’s and with the exception of Appliances, Ace Hardware; all three have a better selection, better prices and better customer service/experience. No reason to go to Sears anymore.

The online shipping $59 and SYW no longer applying to free shipping is probably because they’ll run out of temporary DIP funding in Mid February.

If Eddie’s sale is approved on the 1st both may change in the blink of an eye.

Sears lost alot of business when the electronics dept was scaled way down.

Lockups that used to be filled with TV's, digital cameras, stereos, etc now sit empty.

Back in the day, a commission associate could earn a decent living selling in Div 57.
