Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

Poor Eikon staff

I am seeing that some of these Eikon support people are now being renamed to SRE

Without even having 1/4 the skillset that SREs are generally required to have.

What did management think of this, changing the title of the employee will change the skills of the employee?

But Srini promised nanosecond response times from the Data Cloud to drive Eikon.

The Eikon desktop never really took off and now its in decline. Even with integration of trading products like 'REDI' (which is rubbish) it will never take off.

That combined with the slowness of the Eikon desktop...its doomed to fail.

Would anybody know what happened to that huge investment in the Toronto campus? Is that still ongoing?

But there is a lot of investment in that area, so ... putting money there and having poor support, gives an interesting mix!

Blackstone explicitly said they didn't buy in for the desktop.
