Thread regarding Sears layoffs

We just bought some time - it would still be in our best interest to find another job

The real challenges for this new Sears are yet to come. If the cash burn is not taken care of in a short amount of time Sears will be gone, never mind Eddie's bid. This new Sears also has to face the challenges of renovating its stores, regulating the supply chain and aligning it with the new smaller footprint. I don’t even want to get started on the biggest challenge of all, making peace with the vendors. Don’t think for one second that either of these processes will not claim it’s “victims”. I’m not gonna waste one more second on waiting and seeing what happens and rather I'm gonna start looking for another job.

OP: if you are still employed then just go. You won’t be missed. Negative attitudes will not help anyone.

OP, I suggest you wait, so you can blame Sears for letting you go not paying severance

New Sears is not a foregone conclusion. Lots of barriers to clear before even getting there, not the least which are a bunch of time consuming court challenges and complete lack of cash.
