See that people are posting about rumored closings at a couple of locations. Are this closures restricted to a few unprofitable locations or are they just a introduction to a bigger wave of closures?

Yes, 425 stores will be closing.
If all Eddie wanted was to close unprofitable locations there'd be almost nothing left. As someone pointed out, he needs to keep the whole sham running for a couple of years so he can carry forward the tax losses of old Sears. Big changes are coming, and no one is going to be happy about them.
