What will happen is that the mid level management who needs to be cut will keep their jobs, and who will suffer; we will. Managers will get rid of a quarter of their team and divide the work up amongst the rest just to save their job. They go back to their office to watch Netflix and YouTube videos, and then scream at the supervisor and wonder why the work is not being done in a timely manner. You knew how a way to save your job, and screw over hard workers in the process. In the end, all there will be is upper and middle management who will work at Windstream. Upper management (i.e. directors and Vice Presidents) have either turned the blind eye to this, have no idea what is going on, or simply do not care what is going on. They need to grow a pair and act like upper management. Middle management is running this company, and when upper management takes back control and gets rid of nonsense middle management positions such as staff managers and some team leads then just perhaps we could beat this bankruptcy thing, and people could enjoy going to work again.

Couldn’t agree more.The OP is @XXyLYQQ-1okk

Management isn't wrong. If you're dumb enough to still be at WIN and not be planning your exit after all this, you're not the brightest star in the sky.

The above is how management thinks.

Morale was already in the toilet due leaderships insatiable greed. Then they announced no merit raises for the 4th year. And by 'merit raise' I am talking about any inflation adjustments, not any actual increases in my wages purchasing power. Then they lost the court case. Then they declared bankruptcy. I fully expect to see leadership claiming that retention bonuses are needed at the top to the BK Judge.

Do you really think any of the neglected workers care or try any longer? Would you? Coincidently the 'leadership' is not ashamed to state they need ever increasing salaries and bonuses to perform their jobs but feel betrayed when emplyees act in a similar manner! I see no hope with existing leadership.

IMO there is very little need for directors. No that doesn’t mean increase VP count because that needs to be addressed as well. We say we provide service in all 50 states but our core business is mainly central to east.

Time to cut dealer payouts or get rid of your SalesForce.

In my experience, chapter 11 actually is finally the trigger that guts middle management. But with this company who knows, they might just keep all of management and fire everyone but the one top performer in every department. It has baffled me over the years Why certain people haven’t left and found jobs with half the workload, twice the recognition and three times the pay. At any rate management have realized that the lack of self esteem, foolish loyalty, or fear of the unknown in these employees equal slave labor that they can count on to exploit to the very bitter end.
