I overheard a discussion about the Cupertino office closing and moving people to Fremont building. The discussion sounded as it would be a transition and not just an overnight switch.
Any truth to this? Anyone know more of these details?

For the sake of not having some IT security goon track me down I won't post, but if you have a peer in Cupertino, ask them on google chat "Are you transferring to Fremont?" and the answer will be "yes". Some people are very happy, some people are very sad. Most are confused. But it is factual.
LOL.
Amazing. Point out the obvious to some disenfranchised individuals /fake employees, and they call you a troll or attempt to degrade you by reverting to the seventh-grade bully they used to be.
No problem. As a professional enginneer I make decisions everyday based on facts and numbers, none of which any of you has supplied so far.
Guess I'll go get another Americano from the new coffee machine. You WD guys can go play with your mamr's.
Mmmmm.... mamr's.
"Nothing in the headlines, nothing from corporate, and no other individuals with similar news."
It's already started, Cheesy. Now go back to the dairy farm and curdle yourself.
Email was sent to Cupertino c--- s---ers. No fake news.
might want to work on looking a little less like a tryhard troll
Nothing in the headlines, nothing from corporate, and no other individuals with similar news.
Sounds like fake news to me.
Just because you were fired for playing with yourself under your desk doesn't qualify as a layoff.
"Nice try".
Your "fake news" headline is flat wrong. It happened in Scotts Valley and that my friend is
a fact. A data point... a true story. Not everybody
will be blessed with a move to Fremont... i wont
sink to your level of name calling... waste of effort
Fake news.
I'd say "nice try", but that'd what they tell r----ded children when they c-ap in their drawers.
Is that what you want? Fine. Nice try. Now go clean yourselves up.
Guess they will dust off the Scotts Valley to Cupertino plan, the one where your boss asks if you need to move your whole team to the new facility. Could their job be done anywhere else?
Then you get to tell folks their jobs are moving to Colorado, they are welcome to apply but Seagate will not be funding any relo expenses.
If California s---s for doing business, then why are so many companies there successful? Facebook, Google, HP & HPE, NetApp, and many others. It's where the action is, and still has the highest concentration of technical talent. If Seagate and Western Digital are having problems, it isn't related to being headquartered in California.
California s---s for doing business
Not a surprise at all.
Confirmed. Two year timeline. Cupertino building to be sold.
