Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Is breaking the company into pieces a probable option?

I imagine they will try to avoid this, but exactly how much probability is there to an outcome in which WIN gets chopped into segments and gets sold of to other companies? I figure it’s either that or thinning to the bone..

CLEC has cost this company big time. We paid big money to just provide service to a tower in the CLEC footprint. In ILEC we own the OSP facilities and in the CLEC world the majority is a leased network resulting in a loss to Windstream. ILEC has funded all these whims in the CLEC world.

CLEC and ILEC fall under different FCC and PSC rules.

The ILEC is treated as a utility and the CLEC portion

is just another company.

How well do all the pieces fit together on the CLEC side? (i just know the local phone business part)

Is there even much synergy between CLEC and ILEC?

I definitely think that will happen, especially small towns with not much revenue.
