That's one thing I won't miss after leaving Sears last year... the constant rumors, layoffs and general instability of working for this company. It makes it difficult to navigate one's family finances around all of this... I was always concerned about making large family decisions then worry that they will pull the rug out from under me with a layoff... some associates I worked with had both spouses working so they could fall back on the other for awhile if it happens, but if you are the only breadwinner working for Sears is very risky, indeed.
Won't be any layoffs until after first week of May.
Warn act requires reporting for 33% of workers at the plant site
Only District, Region and corporate level. Store level layoffs (restructuring) scheduled for last week of March or earlier.
