Someone at F-P must have forgotten all those P.I. run safety meetings where they exposed the

dangers of "hammock" style sleepers for years. They must have laid-off all those designers and engineers. In their rush to make the mighty dollar they created a product they KNEW was unsafe

for consumers.

Here's an interesting article from Consumer Reports that details the Rock N Play and it's development history, safety concerns etc. They seem pretty outraged the product even exists, but one thing I haven't heard anyone bring up is this: if each year around 3500 SIDS deaths are reported in US, that means that over the course of the 10 years in which these 32 Rock N Play related deaths took place, the remaining 34,968 or so deaths had nothing to do with Rock N Plays. Considering how many millions of these products must have been sold in that decade seems like they are actually pretty safe. Without knowing sales numbers its hard to say, but I wonder how many SIDS deaths occur in traditional cribs in terms of a market share percentage.

Maybe an 8% profit from the sale of the campus.

I keep hearing leadership talk about how FP is poised to post 8% growth this year.

calling EA relevant innovators is like saying the NYC office is still open.

It's not hard to see the point. EA has put out some lackluster products as of late. Mattel on a whole hasn't put out an ace product in years. Fire sale at EA would see the way to go. a few million for the campus to a yogurt company or some small manufacturing firm. at least the locals would stand a chance at employment.

EA would be profitable if they sold off all those old toys in those display cases around the campus on ebay instead of making new failures for the landfill. Sell of that podunk motel for inbred flannel wearing mutates already.

Hey EA! How about you spend a few more million to have an outsider revamp your packaging for toys that don't sell since your internal staff couldn't handle it. biggest waste of company resources.

It’s EA after all, I mean what would you really expect to come out of there?

That’s like expecting the next scientific breakthrough to come out of bentonville.

Doesn’t matter where they’re from the truth is the truth. EA makes the lamest product in all of mattel. let’s not forget that EA was purchased just like TYCO in nyc. NYC just had more edge. just god awful leadership the last few years.

You sound like a bitter layed-off NYC employee. We are all sorry that office was closed but don't take your frustrations out on EA. They too have suffered greatly since being purchased by Mattel.

Does anyone really care what that c-ap

store in that podunk town is called? let’s see what team is put in place to oversee the licensed work. I’m sure they’ll be importing some west coast overlords because ES doesn’t have a shred of confidence in the lot of you.

It’s VIDLERS in East Aurora, not Vindlers. And we love it and our beautiful campus.

Last poster, true. The problem is EA is so not the venue for some of these brands. NYC was great because you had NYC and the surrounding areas to get a pulse on what's hot. Unfortunately the leadership for the past 6-7 years was absolute garbage and couldn't do anything but water down and sub segment properties and re-hash the same boring ideas that were used on other properties for years. Their designers were complacent and beaten down and everyone turned a blind eye to technology or were just plain too afraid to put their toes in the water and go long term on the investment. EA needs to be extreme forward thinkers and push the envelope so hard that it breaks the space-time continuum. Otherwise that FOR SALE sign that the other poster mentioned will be a reality and you'll all be begging to be the next stock person at Vindlers.

CS is desperate for revenue to keep that sinking ship in EA afloat. Who would of thought no one wants to take that boring wonder makers line he championed upon his arrival. If you can't grow the business organically just convince the RD to transfer you the business from ES. Good news for jobs in EA at least

You're telling me Mattel closed the Fisher-Price office in NYC, move it, along with some staff, to El Segundo and a few months later, they move the office back to New York, to the Fisher-Price HQ in East Aurora? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

TBH, everyone who's office was closed should have realized the company is in a downward spiral and not taken an offer to move to another campus.

I was at a site that closed and was offered a position at another site. No f'ing way I was going to move my family just to risk being laid off again.

I left to take a job in another industry and am not looking back.

Yah they literally never considered what those nyc laid off or those that moved to keep their jobs would think of this. Best company ever, said no one
