Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Why don’t they announce what is the number of employees they want to cut?

It’s kind of frustrating being kept in the dark. They know we know, so why don’t anounce what are they trying to achieve, and then let the people figure out for themselves so they have a future at the company or not. In this way, they are just building up the anxiety and stress, making people unable to do their jobs properly.

How do you think the lifers stayed lifers? They stabbed people in the back! That's why I say you're chumps if you don't get back at them. Start a blog with their name and publicize what two faced snakes they are. Do whatever it takes, make everyone know. People learn when there are consequences, it will save people down the line. Make them think twice before they throw someone else under the bus.

in situations like this , all masks fall indeed. Best friends of the choosing managers get the residual jobs. PDR's and job success doesn't count at all. It's the ugly truth at Pepsico.

PepsiCo leadership and HR are ALL pathetic. The way they handle layoffs as a whole is terrible.

Year after year, everybody knows that cuts are coming via general chatter. Before and after, the cuts take place the same people are hush hush about how many will hit and then how many hit. For some reason the "leaders" (rolling my eyes) at PepsiCo want you to be fearful of your job. That is NO WAY to motivate. It only hinders progress and productivity. For a company that should thrive on innovation, they mask it by making their workers fearful of loosing their job.

Personally, I was cut during one of the many large layoff cycles in the past years. Days weeks, months before D-day I was given tons of responsibilities, new projects, etc. etc. All of which was way beyond what was required of my role. Then D-day comes, and told I would no longer be working for PepsiCo and the VP that was in the room said "off the record, I really did a great job in all the work that I did." Just goes to show that everyone there is blind, not at all transparent, and will stab you in the back regardless of the difference you are making and the work you are delivering.

In situations like this , the ones that are saved 100% sure , are informed already via informal communication.
