Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

I Would Urge...

...those who come here to think about posts before sending them off. By all accounts, BN is in something of a crisis mode (something they are well versed in) over this site. If you are still working at BN, please consider what you post, and make sure the posts are as opaque as possible--don't disclose your location, position, etc., which could be mined and used against you, because it will.

Also, please exercise restraint when referring to individuals (particularly in management), and keep their identities as opaque as possible, as defamation lawsuits could result.

I understand that many of you are hurting, have been hurt, and are hurting still. I was, but now I'm in a better place, and so can you. Get your resumes updated, start looking, and make your life better.

What a stupid comment. Websites do not willingly give up post details (IP addresses, etc). That usually takes a court order submitted by law enforcement. B&N LP has its hands full with internal theft. It’s id--tic to think they would go after posts on this site.

Bronko is trying to help you. I know from personal experience, LP can and will contact web site owners and get enough information to hunt you down.

I can't be the only one who has had the worst DMs and SMs. It was always like that, well the DM was always evil and that dictates everything but the first two managers were great. And they got rid of them!

LOYALTY?!

BN does NOT know the meaning of the word !

They claim they run their business by “core values”.

BS

they have NO morals , the way they treated over 1800 good, hard working, most of them CAREER employees!

The Truth is NOT slander!

Are you telling me all of those reviews are fake? If you are, you're a bigger mo--n than the people taking jobs here after reading all of them!

PS Those 1800 WERE LOYAL and look how they were treated!

Great advice.

If you are employed by the company, you weren't laid off, and should assert some sense of loyalty, instead of trashing the company with disgruntled formers.

People are mentioning locations, DM's in certain districts, managers in specific stores...

Just stop it, it's slander.

Being fired a year ago was the BEST thing that could’ve happened to me!

I now have a great job, with a great company that truly values it’s employees!

Bronko, you're starting to sound like management. And you know what their word is worth!

Take from my OP what you will; when crisis mode starts, a lot of bad things happen, often to people who don't deserve it. Watch what you do, find a way out, and otherwise keep your heads down.

Bless your little heart. If they treated their employees better, no one would come to these sites. Any manager in "crisis mode" must have things they're hiding and they don't want them revealed on here. Too bad.

What goes around comes around!
