Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Repair services

Starting to really slow down in service as far as call amount per tech per day ratio goes. There was a couple techs LAYED off today in a Northeast district. As long as you continue to sell and work on many types of appliances your good for now.

I wouldn't be surprised if A&E starts expanding the contractor base this year. Back when Stu Reed developed the ISP contractor model several years ago the goal was to only keep in-house techs within the retail footprint and use contractors outside of that area. With fewer and fewer stores and 3rd party contracts to support the rising cost of W2 techs it will probably happen sooner than later.

Well you'll get us, A&E when those Samsung appliances fail in manufacturer warranty or Lowe's extended warranty or wherever you got them. Electronic nightmare there. Keeps us with some job security knowing Samsung is sold a lot.

Yes. Hold on to that happy thought. I bought a fridge, washer and dryer yesterday. Three year Samsung warranty. Because I know they will be in business in 2022.

What I wonder is what if Sears comes out of this strong and becomes eventually a big retailer again. Then people will find themselves running back to Sears to get a good job this will be real ironic.
