Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

We have the opportunity to act now

I mean act in the sense of updating our CV’s and start looking for new jobs. If the writing on the wall wasn’t clear before, it sure as hell is clear now.

The way I see it there are two scenarios, with both of them not being favorable towards the employees. If the company survives in some form it will be a long and painful process with lots of cuts that will affect all of us. She second option is the company is going down, and we all know what that means. The only positive thing that whichever of those processes takes place, it won’t happen overnight, which gives us time to start preparing for leaving and actively start looking for a new job.

I didn't wait. I saw this last year and so did others. Appeals are very expensive and last for years. And they will lose. They killed the company and I see all the people praising TT like he's god.

Get out.

I don’t think anyone will lend us money for the appeal.

Ok so there are not two options only. There are at least three things that are probably being worked on now. Appeal or chapter 13 or chapter 11. The question is the executive management so divorced from reality that they actually seriously consider an appeal? Probably. Will they instead be spontaneously graced with a modicum of lucidity and choose instead to restructure under chapter 11 protections? Let’s hope so because that’s about the only chance there is for WS.
