Thread regarding Follett layoffs

What’s coming at the end of the fiscal year?

C’mon spill it. I keep seeing teasers about terrible things coming at the end of the FY. Post what you know is coming. If jobs are being cut, give people a clue so they can start looking for new jobs now.

I am a s.m., work my 40 and no more, other than rush and once in a great while for special circumstances, use All of my vacation, sick, personal, holidays.

No raises in years ( i dont consider 2.2 a raise) I do not get compensated in any way, bonus plan is an embarrassment, so explain why i should work more?

There is a saying, don't make someone/something a priority when they make you an option.

and so it continues. More skilled people being made hourly. As soon as you put OT on your time card, you will be "corrected" or "coached" on how to handle your time better. If you're well paid (by follett standards), you'll be coached out of a job. If you've never seen one, performance improvement plans are constructed to make you fail.

For goodness sake, the job market is still relatively strong. Get out of follett!

Don't get too excited. Follett DOES NOT pay over time!! They will make part timers key holders at minimum wage before giving overtime. We already have part time key holders and manager never works ot.

So IT after 40? That would be awesome. Finally, a way to get an instant raise, as 55 hrs on average a week at my hourly rate is really going to help my pocket. Thank you.

If that means SMs, great!!!! I will put in 8 hours, take a lunch, unheard of, & book it right at 5pm or get paid OT. Good idea!

I see that we are still onerly staffed in the executive suite. One would think with as many VPs this company has, we wouldn’t be struggling. So we are is a customer service industry...so hey...I have an idea...why not cut the number of people we have to provide that customer service. Things will definitely improve. In he mean time, let’s make who is left jump through hoops and give them the most inefficient tools to do their jobs. Moral will definitely improve. Wait, I have another great idea, let’s talk about culture and hand out meaningless ecards. Ya, that will do it!!

Are you saying they are making SMs into ASMs in areas with area directors?

FT SMs to ASMs with Area Manager promotions, cutting ASM and PT positions in low volume stores to rush temps.

If you haven't been looking for a new job, you're late. Consider follett has contracted during what is about to be the longest economic expansion in our country's history. What does that tell you about follett? It can't grow in a growing economy. When the economy slides into recession and follett will slide sublimely into the past. It's done.

Should have starting looking a while ago. Follett already has one foot in. Past 5 years have been going down rapidly for follett.

If people are not already looking for a new job, they don't have a clue.
