Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Mattel can build a better house with more outsourcing...

Mattel has a lot of issues mostly generated by its manufacturing footprint. 50% of its manufacturing is in-house, and needs to be more outsourced.

To recover Mattel needs to get its supply chain in order by outsourcing more operations and gaining better control of its inventory, especially in the key brands that drive most of its sales during the extremely important holiday seasons.

Let's face it - we are still milking our old fame and some good acquisition moves.

"Competition does drive down cost, I’ve seen it in action at other toy companies. The lowest bid and best quality get the project, no politics, just buisness."

Ex-factory costs are lower at the O&O plants than vendors. Ask Lee Der Industrial about quality.
