Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

Management needs to hit a number by a certain date and is willing to make us hungrier to get there

New comp plan in sales is def there to get us to linearity faster with a 50% drop in BCR. Management needs to hit a number by a certain date and is willing to make us hungrier to get there. You combine this with the fact that they cancelled SKO in Q1.... they are saving a ton of cash flow Q1/Q2. I think they are pushing for something very soon call it a merge or IPO. Hopefully it is successful and good for all of us and goes through, as it seems like a lot of people may starve/get axed for it... I know a lot of us have been waiting a while and have gone through significant changes for it!

It's over for Riverbed. Company technology is being sold and the staff all fired.

@XGbmHyn-3mdj Steelhead isn't going anywhere, lol. That is the lifeblood of this company and its not even close. That's like taking sportscenter away from ESPN.

Fusion was gone a while ago. Almost all the SteelFusion SEs I know of were laid off last year.

You mean SteelHead is gone? I can't see SteelConnect or SteelCentral disappearing, even though we can question the wisdom of getting into SD-WAN with the Ocedo product set that appears to not have been ready for prime time.

Why would the company seek additional money if the company is profitable?

Don't forget the 1.5B worth of Class-A shares which get compounded at 9% annually. The common shares aren't worth a penny unless Class-A principal+interest are paid. Waiting till 2020 will also increase the debt on these shares. In my honest opinion the company will seek additional money before the end of this year.

The company still have 2B debt to pay off. It needs to be valued at at least 5.5B so your common stock worth more than $0.

We are now one of the top 3 OLDEST portfolios in TB's hand because of the company's way too under-performed. Majority of TB's companies are bought later but sold earlier than RVBD, check out solarwind, sailpoint or just looks at TB's news. If you recall PM has till end of 2020 to bring ebitda to 400Million, that must be his contract as the new chief and things are not going well. Watch out my RVBDers friends, things can go very, very wrong at this point and the value of your common stocks are getting closer and closer to VOID as the debt accumulates and the global economy slows down. If you are any good, jump ship, there are at least 100 companies in the bay area that can pay you better and gives 10x better job security.

If you dream about buying a Porche with the money from the company going public, Airbnb/Uber/Slack are probably better choices.

Even at a $3.50 payout that is a valuation of $5 billion. At 14X EBITDA that is $357 million per year EBITDA. The last I saw the EBITDA was less than $250 million which is $3.5 billion valuation. Someone could pay more than 14X EDITDA but unlikely given the state of the company. I wouldn't expect a large payout, after paying for acquisitions, declining legacy sales, missed market opportunity in SDWAN leadership, and it could take another year or two to right the ship, they will be lucky to get back what they purchased company for. IMHO

I guess you can get $15-20 / share if you fire everyone in the company leaving only the pork bellies of the company.

if you think you're getting 15-20 per share you are all high.

0.09 cents per share for pouring your soul into a company that doesn't give a sh-- about you

$15-20 per share - are you kidding? Internal notifications stated around $7 mark - cut it in half and you have your real number

TB has a very good track record when it comes to making money. Riverbed at the time was their largest investment ever.

we had 3 or 4 round of layoffs in the last 4 years. None made us go public or liquidation. This is yet another round and nothing to dream about. Did anyone tell you that private equity sometimes lose money on their poforlios?
