I think that you may have something there. The nonessential positions will be on the chopping block first, or should be. The problem is there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians. I have never seen so many staff managers in my life. Every group has a staff manager. It should be supervisor and then director. They need to get rid of them. Get rid of the marketing, trainers, stream updaters, some team leads who walk around and do nothing, then perhaps, just perhaps Windstream can beat this. Don’t take it out on the workers. Get rid of the middle management that has screwed this company up.

Etc
Operations will slim down by 50%
Customers will be p-ss-d, MTTR will go through the roof.
service delivery intervals will double and triple and no one will care.
