Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

One more reason to GET OUT

The Census just released its report on Retail Sales during the holiday season (Nov-Dec).

It dropped 1.2%, the biggest drop in 9 YEARS!

With no one wanting to buy this company, look for more hours cut, layoffs and bankruptcy.

"If no on buys, weve still got jobs."...…...Yeah, you still have your jobs because they let go 1800+ of the most knowledgeable and dedicated employees last February. The ones that have been there the longest, the ones that had invested the most, who would go out of there way to make things happen, who worked the overnight resets, who moved around the store to help out departments that needed the extra help. how far do you think that 40 million they saved after dumping us out with the trash will last. your time is limited. Don't think it isn't. how long are you going to last when they keep thinning you out to where you can't even help customers. how long do you think customers will come into a store that is in shambles and they can't find anyone to help them. Hello Amazon!

3 sounds kind of excessive. But then, this is one of the dumbest companies ever.

The company is struggling to right itself, sales are down, but Bill has been

our DVD guy for 25 years, so definitely don't cut him...

It's incredibly naive to think a big corporation, any corporation, is going to let loyalty trump everything else.

The next big layoff?

You got another year, it's not like it's going to be this big shocker.

It's like you guys expect constant reassurance, just for being there forever.

“The sky has been falling for eight years now, and we're still employed.”

Not the thousands let go last year. Most firings are done in waves..

Live with your head in the sand now, unemployed soon.

You mean,

we've still got jobs... FOR NOW!

Get ready for the next big layoff.
