I do love my soda stream though
I tried to give my Soda Stream away to multiple neighbors and nobody wanted it!!! How sad is that?!?

The C-Suite all received soda streams, when are the rest of us getting ours? Then I'll think about pitching it to the Amway selling model. I'll be pitching hard for Pancake Syrrup while I'm at it.
My daughter already found another job but thanks for that information about receiving severance and unemployment concurrently. I am sure it will be helpful to many on here.

When I was laid off a few years ago I collected “severance” & unemployment concurrently ~ the attorney I spoke to at that time said I could. I don’t think the laws have changed since then so my advice would be to contact your attorney.
You are right about unemployment. My daughter was laid off from a different company and received two weeks severance. She applied for unemployment right away so she would not have to wait but it was rejected due to the severance. She didn’t know about that rule.
File for unemployment - you get a maximum of $450/week in NY state. Be careful when you file your unemployment claim because severance pay is taken into account. When I filed my claim the day after my layoff (it wasn’t at Pepsi) it was rejected because I received severance pay. I had to wait a month after those weeks of severance passed, and then I filed my claim again. It may be different in other states, but that’s how it works in NY.
For additional income I tap my emergency fund (everyone should have six months of living expenses saved). I’ve been out of work for five months and counting and burned through $15,000 in savings.
Probably the most bizarre part of today's town hall was when we were told to go out and sell Soda Stream to our family and friends. Are we PepsiCo or Amway?
Another co-worker told me she got a soda stream. I didn't get a damn soda stream! I guess I'll ask for one with my severance package if I should get laid off. Ha!
