SRO tells us he is going to help beat the system

So as we all know, the new MAX system doesn't work. Two or three tickets a day while hundreds in que. No way you can make your score because there is not enough work. SRO doesn't want to have to fire us for poor scores, so today he tells us we need to figure out out to beat the system to keep our jobs and he is going to help us, because he has begged upper management to fix or get rid of MAX but they don't want to hear what he has to say. Even the SROs are finally admitting MAX doesn't work. Upper management has their heads buried in the sand.

The only way to deal with MAX is to create company demand tasks and put majority of the time on that ticket. You should also check with your Sri on the time allotment for your tickets because down here they are a bunch of garbage numbers.

Anybody who points out the inefficiencies is labeled a negative troublemaker resistent to change and punished. They want yes men only who will cook the books to make them look good, and pretend that is not what they are advocating. No alternate ideas are wanted as they are the superior geniuses.

I was thinking yesterday, hoping i never set foot in an actual phone store of any kind again. Was always a frustrating experience. Automation and self activation = less physical employees. How else are they going to save money?

Well since nobody interacts with the employees and they think that webcasts is real communication while they Pat each other on the back might just be part of the problem. The fact the so called anonymous surveys and wanting feed back that is also supposedly anonymous but tracks your Group, Org, Supervisor is another one. Lets see 5 employees and I have to read every post, not hard to figure out who said what based on knowledge of the personalities involved.

I think this place is great! My job is great the only issue I have is the Lazy union residential guys always complaining. Just do your damn job Centurylink is not going anywhere. In fact if you look at the numbers it says just the opposite. As for the dividend that was a long time coming. That was the main reason Centurylink for years never could make money they were handing it to the Investors. lets stop complaining and start working. i understand the difficulty since for so long you guys have been resting on your laurels.

Wow.. thanks for explaining that.. Now I am completely informed.. since you explained what the tool does & why it is so useless, I feel like I have enough information to base an opinion now.. I am a CST in mid-atlantic and i had a director in NC tell me the exact same thing you just said. They are over $50 million and still going strong and they refuse to admit it doesn't work, and they are spending a fortune with the software developer trying to make it work. And it is not going away even as it runs off all the remaining few customers.

The FCC is investigating us over the big fiber outage. They should be investigating us over the MAX system and WHY customers are waiting up to 6 weeks for repair and installs.

I agree with F---emall & f this place. Also been on MAX for over a year, not much changed. They keep changing every day how to fudge Max to get it to work. ( I am speaking from dispatcher point of view) Nothing seems to help, seems like nothing is tested before dispatch told to roll out a new "plan of the day" meanwhile techs still sit with no work or hardly any. Kind of in a lose lose situation. I could go on and on, that system needs to die, BUT dispatch was told " MAX WILL WORK" to much money was spent on it. To see an elderly person sit with NDT for 3 wks, or sometimes longer, to me that is just not ethical. Remember, it could be your mom or dad OR Grandpa or Grandma, oh and lets not forget the cancer patient.

Already on the performance plan. Everyone in our workgroup has been on it, some for six months. Welcome to MAX. Impossible to not be on it. They want five jobs a day. The illustrious MAX system only give you two or three jobs a day. Then, they tell you pull futures. Only for one reason ot another, you can't work them. So, then they tell you makr company demand tickets to make your numbers. BUT then the MRO catches on and tells the SRO we can't do that.

So then, we demand a meeting with the MRO. He shows up with his Director. We ask him to explain how we can get our five jobs a day when MAX only load us two or three a day. He becomes speecheless and give the director the "help me" look. Director looks up from his cellphine he has been looking at the whole time and says "we know theres a problem and we are working on it" and that was the end of the meeting.

When asked about being fired after being on the performance plan for months, he snickered and said we would have to fire everyone and you don't see us firing any of you, do you?

So we live with just the threat of being fired every day because of a POS system they know doesn't work.

MAX is the biggest pos ever. Been on it for over a yr. Get ready to be put in a performance plan because of not meeting unrealistic numbers. Overbooking you daily with more work than you can do in 8 hrs plus no OT. The end is coming soon. Our last boss was fired because he wouldn't write a guy up for taking too long on a circuit. Cable is sh*t because of over a decade of neglect. This way to no common sense. Be sure to buzz and stratasync or its your a--.

The sad thing is our SRO and most have to find a way to beat the system to make numbers. The only way is bs tickets or sitting idle.

You obviously don't work for our company. Supervision has been manipulating numbers and technicians have been lying when reporting time forever. I have been around a long long time and i have never seen a supervisor fired for gaming the system or a technician fired for lying on time reporting.

The company wouldn't have any techs left if they fired everyone that lies on their time. You HAVE to pencil whip your time, it is just one of those things.

I do agree however MAX will be the end of our company.

Actually I have seen Supervisors fired and Technicians let go, while agree there is a level of padding that goes on to fill in dead time gaming the system on a scale to sidestep the system they want to appear works and painting other SRO's and crews as incompetent will only create resentment and a whistle blower. Most Management shake your hand while holding a knife in the other.

Any one SRO that manipulates the numbers may get away with it for a short time, but when his numbers are above everyone else's they start looking into why they are doing so well compared to others. That by itself will raise a flag. They will want to know how his people do so well and every other group struggles and then start digging. Once they find out the reasons they will shut it down or show people the door for lying on their time cards, they can fire you for that.

If your going to Dance with the Devil in the Pale Moon Light you better be ready for what happens next.

No matter if scores are manipulated they won’t need techs if they don’t have customers. Max is going to drive more customers away that’s why they went to it.
