New Invented Job Titles = Help HR Sort Who Stays?

Seeing "some" people doing the same jobs as before but carrying new Job Titles. Is this just a likely gimmick/tool to help HR or Supervisors determine who stays by moving the chosen keepers into the new category.

Those in the old classification/category likely to have their entire group eliminated over time? Will make if much easier for HR to easier determine who is targeted for removal and who is not by category.

Funny how local union president with his whole 12-13 years, 6-7 in office still has his job while techs in same title with 20 were let go. must have a pair of golden knee pads

I personally experienced this. They have changed my title twice since Level 0 took over. Found out Level 0 tech in job description makes $5hr more than legacy CTL tech. SRO claims we will see pay adjustment in next pay raise. Their STI is supposedly much more than ours but I am sure they won't give anyone their STI because they will claim they need the money to pay their big fine from the FCC.

new titles are in broader pay scales to align the two companies job functions without doing salary adjustments. job descriptions will come out at a later date.

This tactic is used by many Fortune 500 companies to shed unwanted employees by stating “your job title has been eliminated” which makes any EEOC claims invalid.
