Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Latest on layoffs?

Have there been any news on more layoffs at AIG? I've heard some whispering, but nothing concrete.

I feel that it has been long enough since the last larger round that we are due another one sometime soon.

Does anybody have more info on this? Hopefully something denying this so I can stress less?

Olathe takes a hit. Manilla also hit of 200 in Ops side and 40 in IT. Sofia too. Good people targeted usually 8 years up. Heard on IT side some managers removed so that someone can place his own people from former company. Lots of rumblings a lot respected the axed leaders. Lots waiting for their RIF turn - more layoffs!

Work will be done in Manila?... wow that is bad as us losing jobs here and having them at that stink hole india (country of the biggest trolling scam artist in the world). Figures it would be where that HOHOHO Cinamon from boston is.

Well someone at AIG who made that genius decision is getting some serious $$ for it and hurting the rest of us.

Layoffs, in some form or another, are gonna be around in some form or another. Ops & IT have gotten hit hard and everyone is doing more with much less.

heard the same too, regarding it auditor. well if we wanted audit to dance to our runes why have it in first place. also heard some floors of 175 will be leased out, not sure if the building will be outright sold

all strategic projects 'on hold' until mid-Jan when some will be permanently stopped - so 'yes', more layoffs coming. hard to believe that I was axed back in jan of 2013, yet the carnage continues!!!!

I heard they got rid of the Head IT Auditor, because the new CIO didn't like him....there goes your independence as an audit function......place is going down..it's unfortunate as there are good people in its 100th anniversary.
