We are looking at a bloodbath

Dividend cut as revenue takes a "pause"? If they can't hold the dividend and still be cash positive, and/or severe guidance cut then it'll be a bloodbath.

This hits the nail on the head. Judging by everything said so far, the only way for Seagate to achieve what it set out to achieve is through major, major layoffs. Which means we are screwed.

Millions is a stretch for badges. I hope your joking anyway. The "robots" cost 150K per year per site. So, yeah maybe a half mil or more per year will be spent for that hair brained scheme.

Hiring more people because of terrible yields on all new products does not mean a successful financially stable company. Higher yields lower costs and make the company stronger, not the opposite.

The sandboxes are to cover up the 50% of the buildings that are vacant, dark, and tattered with dusty office junk strewn everywhere. Walk around and visit the areas that show what the whole building will eventually look like in time.

People coming in? Sure the turnover is being replaced with younger people and more women but Seagate has gone from 53k employees to 42k in less than 3 years. The trend is clear and with dropping volumes the head count has to continue to drop. It is all moving to just a few cloud drives that are not as profitable as past drives and so many people are not needed and there cannot be any waste.

Great advice. Not fearmongering but a lot of tech has reduced earnings expectations (ex. Samsung, Apple, etc.) but Seagate has not for some reason yet. Not sure the benefit of the "quiet strategy" of our leadership. It just creates a lot of uncertainty.

What some call scaremongering, others call trying to HELP people get prepared. Of course they are not going to announce anything to you until the day your manager calls you into your office to lay you off like always is done silly. The official financial statements can't be released until earnings reporting time. Until then, we get flow down information from our management that we will have a weak quarter or 2. And, didn't you read the last email from DM stating such? I guess not. So, instead of getting blind-sided on layoff day by surprise, perhaps knowing the risks now will HELP you prepare. Consider 1)Get resume updated and ready, 2)Save for emergency fund, 3)Don't take on any new debts, 4)Don't purchase the stock and/or sell now.
