Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

Beware The Ides Of March! (Or April actually)

Anyone else find it interesting that the annual Riverbed Sales Kick Off got moved from January until June? I’m not sure that “interesting” is the word the Sales dudes and dudettes would use.. unless it’s like the Chinese curse of “may you live in interesting times”.

Anyone else curious what’s going to happen in the approach to 04/24 - the 4 year horror-versary of going private?

How long are Thoma Bravo going to accept the target miss by Sales, the poor quality deliveries from Development or the delays in getting the Indian outsourcing setup for Support?

I’d be looking over the shoulder for another round of layoffs, and keeping a close eye on the job boards! Et Tu Mountford?

All I can say is this, SKO was never moved since Riverbed started doing SKO’s. Moving the SKO date really doesn’t matter so as long as SKO takes place but optimally you’d have it at the beginning of the year or business quarter.

Overall, upper management is stacking their staff with “yes people” with the infamous “multiple faces” (you know, the ones that hide and dodge well) in order to secure their roles. To me, that does spell for an interesting year for sure but st the cost of the truly effective leaders that make a difference.

One day, I’ll write a short essay describing the secret of management at Riverbed. As you can imagine, it’s very simplistic, very “old school” and often manages people behind a salesforce dashboard.

Maybe new owners will be in place for a new SKO in June
