Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

More layoffs?

Anybody else worried that we'll be hearing about more layoffs really soon due to dropping oil price?

Schlumberger has proven again and again that the only way it knows how to deal with a crisis is through layoffs. No actual solutions, just band-aid patches.

I'm afraid we might be seeing this again very soon...

Dream on, what I see now is too much id--t with good connection. The previous lay off was aim to experience with no connection and talents that can't work with stupid manager.

Layoffs are definitely happening now. I know of one guy from D&M and I expect many more. Go figure Schlumberger would do this right before the f---ing holidays. SMH

Write this down, because one day if you own bussiness it will benefit you. Cheap product need cheap worker, profit down need less worker, nk profit no worker. And still no profit need sell bussiness quick and of course layoff

They just brought them into SL. They will be stuck for 2-3 years till their housing allowance is due to expire. Them transfer again. The cycle of life around campus.

There will be for sure reduction in NAL. There is a drop in revenue there needs to be a drop in cost of revenue as simple as that. This will translate in transfers where activity is growing and the rest will be offset by layoffs.

What makes you think dropping staff to get costs to match revenue isn't a solution? This is the way business has been run for thousands of years son.
