Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

One thing is for sure

Well one thing for sure with the latest reorganization people will be losing jobs with DXC. One thing that doesn't make a lot of sense. Why would a company tell an employee you either start working for a vendor or have no job/relationship with DXC and then contact that same person back to do what they were doing as an employee?

Makes no sense to me. I was lucky enough to be part of a WFR months ago and have already landed a much better paying job with less bull cr*p and less stress.

Stock price is almost as low as the initial price when the company started. When will the stock holders wake up and fire the CEO. (with no golden parachute)

Contract-back is short-term cost, rather than carrying the cost indefinetely with all the renumeration that goes with it.

I don't think any of these so-called "partnerships" have done much to raise the DXC bar. In theory you would think it should be the most capable set of IT aquired skills on the planet and thus should be growing exponentially, but it's not. AWS has the tools to migrate businesses but doesn't go out there and sit with the customer and examine which parts would be more effective running on cloud platforms, cloud apps and cloud services. it assumes DXC will do all that front enterprise analysis and transforming stuff. At some point. When it gets around to it. Probably when its finished its own transformation. At some point. When it gets around to it.

The main reason for the AT&T thing was to get staff off of the books.

Mikey did it to CSC too.

More expensive? Yep!

Less efficient? Yep!

AT&T charging for every little thing and demanding purchase orders? Yep!

Loss of cohesion because now they don't work for the same employer on the same team? Yep!

Good for those lucky enough to get an AT&T badge though - they get raises, overtime and all sorts.

Good for DXC? Absolutely not.

After years of the CSC and AT&T "partnership" what new business has AT&T brought to the table? They were supposed to cross sell CSC into their customer base.... not a cent.

It was all just smoke and mirrors to make it look like Mikey was establishing a strategic partnership, not just dumping staff and increasing costs long term.

Don't get me wrong, I have no bad feeling towards my former colleagues who got rebadged. We are all just pawns in Mikey's stupid short term cash out.

I guess you refer to this AT&T thing. This is indeed very strange. Not sure what is the value of this move as there is no doubt services now will be more expensive.
