Always remember that, at Citi, you are a tiny, unimportant cog in a massive machine you can't control.

I was layed off 10 years ago. I took the money and ran. It was like leaving High School. I was so happy it was over.

Everyone who is so unhappy working at Citi should leave. Nobody is making you stay. If you hate it that much move on and stop complaining. I’m thankful to be keeping my job!

Work from home = Job moves to contract employees, eventually. Numbers of Years employed is not a factor when reduction in force efforts are activated.

The only jobs I've noticed for Hagerstown are higher than a UM and very limited. I think it will be near impossible to even move laterally now. Thankfully I don't hate my job. What jobs was that HR guy talking about?

Didn't heat any of that in my session. Was asked to simply respect social media guidelines. Also told could post for different jobs at the site, some maybe for advancement. Hours and pay not changing as a result of this. My neighbor next to me heard this too

We were also told if we complained on social media about what citibank is doing that we would be fired. If they cant afford to keep the lights on then they have no right to be in business. We can't move to different departments and there is no chance of advancement. They did away with our differential pay, change your our hours and now this. They told us take it or leave it. They will be changing the rules and trying to force more people out over the next year.Citibank has been caught doing many dishonest things in the last ten years. They fired all the workers who were maxed out or close to maxed out on the amount they could make. Citibank was sued lost the case and had to pay all the employees they fired. They have been caught time and time again cheating their customers. Money laundering for d--g dealers and has had to pay many large fines year after year for all their crimes. Open your eyes because Citibank does not care about the workers. They only care about money.

No job cuts announced in the town halls, seems Citi's doing the right thing here by allowing employees to work at home and getting a smaller building for those who can't. Not sure where all this hate is coming from?

Maryland laws are making companies leave with no incentives to invest in communities. However Citi says is streamlining, etc. Perhaps next time they ask for a taxpayer bailout maybe they should let failing banks go under. Food for thought no qualms. I just want to remember how we got here. When they needed the taxpayer it was beneficial. Now their doing fair not okay let cut jobs...

I'm about done thinking about this, but what a smart move by Citi. Didn't have to do a huge layoff and employees still keep jobs. They can still decide to get rid of people here and there and it won't be noticed. It's sad that they aren't growing MD anymore and opportunities to move departments are gone. Glad to still have a job for now.

I agree and we will not realize how many get canned because we will all be working from home

I fully expect them to start Pip'in folks to thin the herd. Don't have any proof but won't be surprised. Gonna be sad to get walked out of my own work closet.

Here is a blurb:

Today we are announcing a more flexible work strategy that will allow us to offer ‘Work from Home’ programs, as our primary workforce strategy in Hagerstown. As part of this plan, we are also going to exit our current site by the end of the year and pursue a smaller location in the area for those not eligible to work from home. Our smaller footprint, combined with technological advances, have allowed us to offer the ‘Work from Home’ programs while sustaining the significant talent we have built here over the years.

I have been following this since day one and have had mixed emotions. It has been the only place I can go to feel human. I honestly walk around the site feeling as if everyone around me is waiting for the day and not knowing when that day is coming.

I’m going to walk in the townhall meeting with my head held high and hope for the best. Citibank has been so good to me for the past 10 years and I honestly don’t know how long it will take me to bounce back if things don’t go well today.

In any case, I will be lifting up prayers today to all sitting in there with me which I have known for years.....

The last time I was JD'd the managers found out the day before. They didn't share of course but I overheard mine having a anxious talk with their spouse about things when on break. Gonna be interesting tomorrow.

All I have to say is come dressed professional tomorrow for there will be several very higher ups on site. And expect the unexpected.
